Loosely adapted from the 2016 Spanish film The Invisible Guest, Evaru is yet another suspense-thriller from Adivi Sesh similar to his 2016 film, Kshanam. Commendable performances from Regina and Sesh complement the complex narrative and the film will keep you guessing and entertained for the most part. Best Telugu Movies on Amazon Prime: I remember the day its trailer was released, Arjun Reddy had created quite a stir. In a film industry that loves glorifying its heroes and objectifying its heroines, through its masala potboilers and wafer thin plots, this was a shocker. The highest-grossing and the most successful Tollywood film of 2018, Rangasthalam, directed by Sukumar and starring Ram Charan Tej and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles deserves all the success it received all throughout last year mainly because of the regional vibe that it imported to the silver screen. The profoundly-written screenplay, the deeper meaning behind certain scenes complimented the commercial aspects of the film like the revenge-driven storyline, custom-written music, action sequences and the bombastic performances from the entire cast. Athreya’s ability to tell an unorthodox story in the most entertaining and comedic way possible has to be appreciated.
